I think its been since either August or September that I posted something that wasn't just a link. It was probably about Detroit. It was probably around the time my daughter stopped taking as many naps.
Anyway, I saw something today that made me think about a director (who I hopefully will blog about later). He has a new movie and when I heard about it, I instantly wanted to know more about it and see it. But I also realized that director has a tendency to piss me off. Like David Lynch, he has elements of brilliance but also frustrating habits that ruin some of his movies.
That got me thinking about must-see directors. People who, regardless of subject matter, you'll want to see their movie. If _____ makes a file, you'll make an effort to view it. Its been pretty quiet around here, so mVc folk... do you have any directors like this? Anyone who by name recognition alone you'll try to see sooner rather than later?
For me, besides the two I mentioned above, the only directors that immediately came to mind were the Coen Bros and Paul Thomas Anderson. Then I googled top directors or something and found this list from the Guardian to remind me of who I was forgetting. I think there might be a few more who deserve onto my list...

1 sucka ass fools had something to say:
Directors whose work I will pay $10 to see without knowing anything else about the movie:
Coen Bros
Spike Lee
Charlie Kaufman (ok, he's a writer)
Woody Allen used to be on the list
I just started Netflix, so maybe I will get back into movies.
