Well, I think I qualify as a nerd in most every connotation of the word. And I have to say, with no offense to the other nerds, that this movie looks like a giant crap fest. I don't think I'd even watch it as a guilty pleasure movie when Mrs. Tramp leaves me home alone.

Personally, I like my Sci-fi and Fantasy to stay the F away from each other. Nothing good comes from combining them. Unless you're talking about Krull.

I know it was different in the Jurassic age, but these days it's pretty acceptable to say that one is a "fantasy nerd" or a "Lord of the Rings dork."

I watched this tonight. While I wouldn't recommend it to a normal person, I think it was pretty fantastic. Good production value (for the sets anyway, the cgi was weak, surprisingly good cast, clever plot (basically it's Beowulf) and all in all a pretty entertaining time.
